Grudging respect for Mac Pro

I upgraded the memory in a couple of Macs yesterday. Seriously, the inside of those brutal metal cases is a work of art compared to the guts of your average PC. I don't trust Macs on principle, but I have to admit that they are pretty awesome machines.
You pay your money and take your choice I guess, and you do have to pay a lot for your Apple goodies. They were still covered in dust inside though as PC innards habitually are, (my home PC smells of soot when it gets warm since we had the fireplace altered). That made them look a bit bob. I'm reaching a bit for something not to like here, aren't I?

Ram

Or random access memory. I bought the wrong memory for my PC. Like a dick. I was a bit pissed when I did it, but I didn't bother to check what I already had installed. What I had was incompatible with what I bought. So it's just cost me a fiver to send it back, and I'm still no better off.

It's a bloody minefield finding the memory that will work with your motherboard, unless you want to pay through the nose for someone to fit it for you, which considering it's a pretty simple process, I'm unwilling to do.

I just want things to go a bit faster, without loads of hassle. Is that too much to ask?

Reddish Thicky

I can't remember what reddish thicky is, or even if it's important. It came to me this morning while I was pondering my situation. What was, or is, reddish thicky? Is it a place name? Or a food? I no longer recall. All I can remember is the name. Perhaps you know.
In other news, nothing much has happened. Or perhaps they have and I can 't remember what they were. I hate not being able to remember. I forget so much, though I can recall all kinds of crap. I berate my son for reciting lines from Harry Potter films or Simpsons movies, yet know loads of lines from films like Blade Runner, Aliens and others. Why do we remember so much shite? It's not like we have any choice half the time. Advertisment jingles are the worst offender, along with crappy catchy pop tunes. There's so much useful stuff that just slips out of your brain.
This is why I worry about reddish thicky today.
What if it's really important and I can't remember why?
